About:
Alena Schuss is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and a Doctoral student at Hope International University. Her academic achievements include an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University, complemented by a BS in Business Administration and a BS in Exercise Sports Science from the University of the Cumberlands, Kentucky. Additionally, her studies extended to Psychology and Sports at the University of Vienna, Austria.

Alena is an accomplished therapist in trauma-informed care, with a focus on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This technique is integral to her practice, offering effective healing for trauma survivors. Her proficiency in EMDR demonstrates her expertise in this specialized area of therapy.

Cultural and Professional Background:
Originally from Austria, Alena moved to the US in 2017 through an athletic scholarship. Her doctoral research is concentrated on the unique challenges faced by military personnel, first responders, and their families. Alena's own experiences as a professional triathlete in Europe provide her with a unique perspective on physical and psychological stress.
