About:

Grace Hong, ACSW, is an Associate Clinical Social Worker and holds a Master of Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley with an emphasis in advancing health and well-being across the adult lifespan. Grace identifies as a first-generation, Korean American influenced by the diverse cultures throughout California. She has worked with transitional aged youth, adults, and older adults 55+ with a background spanning a decade in diverse settings including: residential senior living, community based clinics, patient treatment centers, and providing lifeline support nationwide.


Therapeutic & Collaborative Approach:

Grace uses a trauma-informed and collaborative approach to provide clinical care to clients. Grace specializes in working with adults experiencing grief and loss, health complications, depression, anxiety, and management of stress through emotional regulation. Her work focuses on client’s strengths and themes of esteem, relationships, support systems, and the impacts of changing social climate. Grace utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Trauma Informed Care (TIC) incorporating exposure therapy across digital platforms. She uses Narrative Therapy, curiosity, and exploration to collaboratively work with clients in navigating life transitions, social dynamics, and their systems of care. Grace’s experience also includes working with clients with substance use and utilizing harm reduction principles. Grace provides care that looks at influential factors on an individual’s esteem, relationships, healing and growing to work together to achieve their aspirations.


Cultural Sensitivity:

Grace is bilingual in English and Korean and uses she/her pronouns. As an Asian American, she has navigated generational expectations, holding multiple cultural values, and connecting with multiple generations. She carries dedication and passion for working with older adults and seniors having been influenced by communities of elders in her upbringing. Grace provides inclusive care of people’s expression of identity, culture, and LGBTQ+ support having received training from The Trevor Project. Grace uses her ability to speak multiple languages as a lens in processing and understanding various forms of connection, communication, and culture.


Outside of Therapy:

Grace is a community activist who advocates for mental health and well-being by collaborating with neighborhood organizations. Grace is also an explorer and enjoys connecting with the beach, bird watching across the world, and cooking traditional foods to incorporate mindfulness practices.
