“Trauma is not what happens to you; it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you.” – Dr. Gabor Maté

About:

Nicolle Rosario brings a wealth of experience to her work, combining a deep understanding of trauma with practical tools for healing. For 15 years, she supported families as a parent educator, guiding them through every stage of raising children while working with non-profit organizations such as ECHO. She later earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Nicolle began her career as a therapist in a residential treatment setting, where she worked with individuals facing complex mental health challenges including Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Substance Use. These early experiences shaped her trauma-informed approach—one that helps clients understand why past experiences continue to affect them and, just as importantly, how to navigate the emotional and behavioral patterns left behind. Nicolle remains committed to lifelong learning and stays current in the evolving field of trauma-informed mental health through ongoing training and education.

Individual Offerings:
Whether someone is struggling with persistent intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty navigating daily stressors, Nicolle offers a grounded, supportive space to explore what is happening, why it's happening, and how to use practical skills for creating lasting change. All emotions are valid, but sometimes emotions act in ways that hijack us rather than support us. Feelings such as anxiety, depression, and anger can shift from being helpful signals to overwhelming states that no longer serve us. Nicolle helps clients change their relationship with these emotions—not by fighting them, but by learning how to manage them more effectively. Using DBT as a primary framework for emotional education, she teaches clients how to build skills that bring balance and clarity. She provides compassionate support, helping people move from emotional survival to a more stable, connected, and intentional way of living.

Group Offerings:
In addition to individual therapy, Nicolle offers skills groups designed to help clients who are ready to bridge their understanding of why they’re struggling with the powerful how to shift it. These groups provide practical tools to navigate overwhelming emotions, build insight, manage intrusive thoughts, and create meaningful change in a supportive environment. Ideal for individuals seeking real-life strategies while connecting with others facing similar challenges, each group offers structure, connection, and a compassionate space for learning, growth, and healing. Nicolle brings clinical expertise, warmth, and presence to ensure every participant feels supported and empowered throughout their journey. Offered alongside a once-a-month individual check-in, these groups are best suited as a supplement to ongoing work with an individual therapist or as a way to deepen your broader mental health journey.
